Frequently Asked Questions
In addition to enhancing your outdoor living enviroment, we also provide
a number of seasonal services for new and on going customers. These services would include regularly scheduled maintenance for your lawn, shrubs, and flower beds. We suggest to everyone to mulch all landscape beds at least once a yearand plant new seasonal color every 6 months.
We also provide sprinkler system check up and repair. Our crew can fix any and all types of sprinkler systems and their components, certify backflow testing, and upgrade old sprinkler clocks. Please call for other specials.

Q. What's the best time of year to landscape my yard?
A. We can install new landscaping any time of the year. There may be a few plants that will need to be installed in the Spring, when the threat of a hard frost is past.



Q. Do I need to have my entire yard landscaped at once, or can I have it done in phases?
A. We will be glad to landscape your yard anyway that you need, whether all at once or in phases.



Q. What will it cost me if Carnahans comes out to look at my yard?
A. We don't charge to meet with prospective customers. We will also provide you with a free, written estimate for any work to be done. Any landscape plan that we draw and print up remains property of Carnahans unless you decide to use us to do the work. We then will provide you with a copy of the plan at no charge.



Q. What would it cost me to have Carnahans just design a plan for my yard? "My house isn't finished yet, and I am just planning ahead". Or "I would like to do the work myself, but I don't know where to start".
A. In general to design either the front or back yard separately, it would cost $100.00 per front yard or $100.00 per back yard. Both front and back yards together would be $200.00. This is the charge for for a typical residential lot. Anything larger than 1 acre may run a bit more. Please call about the price for commercial designs.



Q. What happens if I pay you to create a design for my yard, and I was going to do the work myself, but later changed my mind and want you to do the work? Will my design fee be credited toward my project?
A. Yes. We will deduct the design fee from the project total. The design fee credit may become void after several years if not used. Please call for details.



Q. I like the plan and the price for the job is right. What do you need next in order to get started?
A. We need you to sign a contract for the work and we also need a deposit. A typical deposit is 50% of the project total. The balance is required at the end of the job.



Q. Ok, we've decided on a plan, the contract is signed and the deposit has been paid, when will you be able to start?
A. Depending on the time of the year, it may be anywhere between 1 week to 3 weeks during the busy season or a matter of days to 2 weeks during the slower season.



Q. What happens if I want to make changes to the work after it is installed? Will there be any additional charges for changes I make?
A. We can make any changes that you may want, BUT there are most always additional charges associated with changes. We strive to make the entire job understandable to you before we start the work. We prefer to make as many changes (if they need to be made) before we start the project.



Q. Is there any type of warranty on your work?
A. Yes. Plant warranty is generally 6 months. There is also a warranty on sprinkler systems. Please refer to the details written on your contract or give us a call for more details.



Q. What days do you work?
A. Our office is open M - F 8:00am - 5:00pm. Our crews work M - F 8:00am - 4:30, sometimes Saturdays.
